Getting started with Sellena

Sellena is an AI shopping assistant for fashion and apparel stores. Here's how to install it, connect your catalog, and go live — most stores are up and running in a few minutes.

1. Install the app

  1. Add Sellena from the Shopify App Store
Open Sellena's listing and click Add app, then Install. You'll be asked to approve the permissions the assistant needs to read your products, orders, and theme.
  2. Approve access
Shopify shows the exact scopes Sellena requests. These let the assistant read your catalog, build carts at checkout, and keep the widget in step with your theme. Nothing is changed on your store without your action.
  3. Setup runs automatically
Once installed, Sellena provisions your store's assistant in the background — no servers or configuration on your side.
Which permissions, and why?
Sellena asks only for what it needs: reading products/collections to recommend items, reading orders to attribute sales, reading your theme to know whether the widget is enabled, and Storefront access to build a cart when a shopper checks out. See our privacy policy for how data is handled.

2. Your catalog syncs automatically

After install, Sellena imports your products — titles, variants, sizes, prices, images, and availability — so the assistant can recommend the right items and help shoppers pick a size. This keeps updating as you edit your catalog, so new and changed products flow in without any manual export.

3. Take the assistant live

Two things need to be in place for the chat assistant to appear on your storefront:

  1. Approve billing (if prompted)
Open the Sellena app in your Shopify admin and approve your plan on the Billing card. See Billing & plans for how pricing works.
  2. Enable the widget in your theme
Turn on the Sellena app-embed block in your theme editor. The app's Chat widget card has an Enable in theme editor button that takes you straight there — full steps in Chat widget.
Check the status card
The app's Chat widget card shows a live status — Live or Not active with the reason (for example, billing not approved or the theme embed still off). Use it as your go-live checklist.
