Data & privacy
Sellena processes only what's needed to run your shopping assistant, and gives you and your customers full control over that data. This page summarises it — the full detail is in our privacy policy and DPA.
What Sellena processes
- Store & catalog data — your products, variants, prices, and availability, so the assistant can recommend items.
- Conversation data — the messages between a shopper and the assistant, used to answer and to improve the experience.
- Order attribution — for commission plans, the minimal order details needed to work out which sales the assistant helped create.
- Customer contact details — only when enabled, a shopper's name, email, or phone may be passed to your support inbox so you can follow up. This can be turned off, in which case only a non-identifying id is used.
GDPR & data requests
Sellena honours Shopify's mandatory privacy webhooks. When a customer or store owner requests data access or deletion through Shopify, the request is verified and fulfilled with real deletion, and every request is logged for compliance.
You can also reach us directly for any data-subject request (access, correction, or erasure) at privacy@sellena.co. A Data Processing Addendum (DPA) is available for merchants who need one.
Deleting your data
Uninstalling Sellena from your Shopify admin stops all processing. Shopify then sends a shop-redaction request, and Sellena deletes your store's data on receipt. A limited set of billing and order-attribution records may be retained only as long as needed for financial and legal obligations, then purged automatically.
Sub-processors
Sellena relies on a small number of sub-processors to deliver the service, including an AI model provider and a customer-messaging platform. The current list, along with the safeguards for any international transfers, is maintained in our privacy policy.
