Billing & plans
All billing runs through Shopify — you approve every charge in your Shopify admin and can change or cancel your plan at any time. Here's how the pricing works and how to manage it.
How pricing works
Sellena offers a few plan shapes. Your available plans appear in the app's Billing card:
- Fixed fee — a flat monthly (or annual) price, with no usage-based charges.
- Commission — no fixed fee; you pay a percentage of the sales the chat assistant helped create, capped each month for predictability.
- Fixed + commission — a smaller fixed fee plus a commission on assisted sales.
Commission on assisted sales
On commission plans, you're only charged for sales the assistant actually helped create. When the assistant builds a cart and that becomes an order, Sellena attributes it and calculates commission on the net sales — after discounts and minus any refunds, excluding tax and shipping.
- Amounts are converted to USD and totalled for the billing period.
- Commission is billed once per period as a single usage charge, never more than your monthly cap.
- The cap is a billing ceiling only — it never limits or pauses your chat service.
Approve billing
- Open the Billing cardIn the Sellena app, scroll to the Billing card.
- Approve the chargeClick Approve Billing. Shopify opens its own approval page showing the plan and price.
- Confirm in ShopifyApprove there, and you're returned to the app with billing active. Your assistant can now go live (once the theme embed is on).
Switch or upgrade your plan
The Billing card includes a plan picker when more than one plan is available to you. Choose a plan and click Switch to this plan — you'll approve the new charge with Shopify, and the change takes effect once approved. You can move up or down at any time.
Cancel your subscription
Open the Billing card and click Cancel plan. Your chat widget stops until you subscribe again. Any commission already accrued in the current period is still billed at the end of that period.
